Postpartum
Doula
Welcome to the remarkable chapter in your life
—the postpartum journey, a beautiful ride that can sometimes feel like a rollercoaster. As a dedicated postpartum doula, I am here to guide and support you every step of the way. My mission is to empower you with knowledge, emotional support, and evidence-based solutions tailored to your unique family dynamics. From nurturing your newborn to helping you navigate the challenges of this transitional period, I am committed to ensuring that your postpartum experience is as smooth and joyful as possible.
Why Does Your Family Need A Doula?
In the past, we thrived in close-knit communities where we received abundant support during the crucial fourth trimester, those initial three months after giving birth.
In today’s world, many of us live in isolated family units without the proximity of extended family support. This is where a postpartum doula steps in, acting as a modern-day community builder, fostering an intimate connection within your family. We provide physical, emotional, and informational support with gentle, non-judgmental guidance, offering well-tested advice and plans for your family’s well-being.
I wholeheartedly believe, and have seen firsthand, that early family support has the power to shape a strong, empowered, and harmonious family unit. We’ve also heard stories to the contrary, of the challenges of the newborn stage, the exhaustion of parents, and the strain that can accumulate when the workload becomes overwhelming for just two individuals to manage alone.
I assist you in crafting a personalized plan that suits your unique circumstances, always with an open heart and without any judgment. Every family is special, and the needs of its members are equally unique. Each family is unique, and everyone has their own distinct needs. I’ll offer creative ideas and solutions to enhance your postpartum experience.
I’m here to empower, guide, and support you and your partner right from the start, as you start your journey as a family or a growing family.
Creating a Village of Support
Life after birth is a delicate dance, where your baby’s needs gently intertwine with your own. It’s a dance that requires a support network, and I’m here not only to be a crucial part of that support but also to assist in creating and organizing that intricate web for the benefit of your family.
As a doula, I understand that the challenges you face can seem daunting – from sleep deprivation to uncertainties in baby care – amplified by the overwhelming amount of conflicting information on the internet, often causing unnecessary anxiety.
Rest assured, I’m here to lead you through these intricacies, ensuring a smooth rhythm that prioritizes your well-being. Drawing upon years of experience and knowledge, I’ve tailored my postpartum consulting to support your family’s flourishing, rather than mere survival. I’m dedicated to aiding you in creating a plan that fits your unique needs.
Empowering Solutions for You and Your Partner
My goal is to empower each person within your family on their distinct journey. I deeply appreciate that parenting comes in diverse forms, and each path is unique. Through comprehensive support, I establish a secure space where you can openly express your thoughts, worries, and moments of happiness. I am committed to assisting you in discovering customized solutions that address the specific requirements of your family. Whether you’re dealing with breast/bodyfeeding, establishing routines, or managing daily responsibilities while caring for your newborn (and other children), I am here to support you.
I also recognize the pivotal role your partner plays in this journey, and support also encompasses them. It’s about nurturing a harmonious partnership that serves as the foundation of your family. For single parents, please know that my guidance extends beyond traditional family setups. If you’re a single parent, I’m here to help your support person(s) understand how they can best assist you on your journey. This collaborative approach ensures that, regardless of your family’s composition, you will receive the support necessary to thrive.
The Fourth Trimester Starts at Pregnancy: Prenatal Insights and Support
To begin this journey, it’s important to understand that preparations for the fourth trimester start as early as the second trimester of pregnancy. Getting ready for the arrival of your baby involves numerous factors to consider. In this context, prenatal consultations are of great importance, as they lay the groundwork for this transformative phase.
Preparing for the postpartum period is crucial for reducing disorder when you bring your baby home. The meticulously crafted three-session package below is tailored to encompass all the fundamentals you’ll need during this pivotal period. Our journey together commences with three personalized prenatal consultations.

1
Prenatal Consultation
I’ll meet and greet you, helping to build trust. We’ll review your registry and sketch out our postpartum plan together.
During our first consultation, we’ll have the opportunity to meet and get to know each other better. I’ll review your registry lists and provide personalized recommendations. It’s helpful to have everything you need in place before bringing your little one home. The last thing you want is to be searching for a 24-hour CVS in the middle of the night on your first night home. Additionally, having an excess of unnecessary gadgets will clutter both your physical space and your mind.
2
Baby Basics & Breastfeeding
I’ll empower you with essential knowledge, covering all the basics you need to know about you and your baby before bringing them home.
In this next session, you’ll either learn or review the essential knowledge and skills you need for caring for your newborn. Topics will include what to expect after birth, feeding (breastfeeding or formula feeding), diapering, soothing techniques, newborn sleep patterns, and recognizing signs of common infant ailments and more. You’ll leave this section feeling well-equipped to care for your baby’s basic needs.
We’ll cover what you can anticipate post birth, and postpartum. We’ll discuss the physical and emotional changes, and potential challenges you might encounter along the way.
3
Nesting Session
I’ll assist in creating a safe yet cozy nest for you and your baby. Together, we’ll organize your space to ensure safety and ease of navigation during those 3 am feeds and diaper changes. I’ll guide you on how to effectively use various baby gadgets.
In our final consultation, we’ll dive into the nesting phase, where you’ll have gathered all the equipment we discussed in our initial consultation. You’ll be well-prepared and confident about what to expect when bringing your baby home. The last part of our preparation journey will bring together the insights from our first two consultations, and we’ll begin nesting. Some of the key topics we will explore include:
- Organizing Support: We'll discuss how to efficiently organize the help you'll receive from friends and family who have offered their support. I'll provide methods to maximize this support, and if you'd like, I can also assist in communicating with them to ensure they understand how best to provide physical and emotional support (billed hourly).
- Home Preparation and Essentials: We'll ensure your home is fully prepared with all the essential items ready to go.
- Efficient Space Organization: We'll explore strategies for organizing your living space efficiently. Disorganization can lead to unnecessary stress, time wastage, and even safety concerns.
- Creating a Safe Environment: I'll guide you on how to create a safe environment not only for your baby but also for the entire family.
- First 24 Hours Back Home: We'll discuss how to navigate the crucial first 24 hours after returning home with your baby, addressing common challenges and providing solutions.
- First Month Routine: I'll help you establish a routine for your first month with your newborn, covering feeding schedules, sleep patterns, and self-care strategies. With these comprehensive insights and preparations, you'll be well-equipped to embark on your parenting journey with confidence and peace of mind.
DLS Consultation (Doula/Lactation/Sleep) add on
The last consultation serves as an add-on, typically scheduled around 3-6 weeks after your baby’s arrival. At this point, families often find that their needs have evolved as their baby grows rapidly, and they require assistance in developing new strategies. Babies go through developmental leaps quickly, making it challenging to keep up. During the DLS (Doula/Lactation/Sleep) consultation, I’ll provide you with the tools you need as a doula, a lactation counselor, and a sleep specialist.
